Cost: $350.00
What is included:
● 7 Fall skill sessions
● 3 practices a week until our Storm The Fort Tournament based on gym availability at the school
● 2 practices per week during the season based on gym availability at the schools
● Season will run late October through early March
● Summer skill sessions and 3 on 3 at FC high school (Summer 2025)
Equipment included:
● We will be ordering new uniforms for ALL participants this season on our 2-year uniform cycle. The players will receive a reversible jersey top and shorts and a shooting shirt.
● Lasered basketballs will be ordered for NEW or FIRST TIME participants
○ ALL 8TH GRADE BOYS WILL RECEIVE A NEW MENS OFFICIAL SIZED BASKETBALL AS PART OF THEIR REGISTRATIONS
● Personalized bags will be ordered for NEW or FIRST TIME participants
● PLEASE DO NOT FINALIZE YOUR REGISTRATION UNLESS YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN SELECTING A JERSEY SIZE. IF YOU ARE UNDECIDED ON SIZE - WE WILL HOLD A JERSEY FITTING ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13TH AT BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT FROM 6-7PM AT THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Competition Level and Team Splits:
● Teams will be split up based on skill level and best fit for the athlete considering their individual skill set, ability, commitment, and developmental readiness.
● Teams will be divided based on observation and evaluation from high school coaches, committee members, designated outside sources, and coaches to place kids at the best level for them to experience growth, development, and success.
● Team one will consist of 6-9 players with no less than 6 (unless there are less than 6 total registered) and no more than 9.
○ Subsequent teams will be split based on remaining registered participants.
**THE FCYSO BASKETBALL COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADJUST TEAMS/HAVE AGE GROUPS SWING PLAYERS UP OR DOWN BASED ON NEED AND NUMBERS IN A CERTAIN GRADE**
Team one will play tournaments only with a total of 8. Coaches will work with the committee to enter into tournaments that will be held on weekends within the months of November-March and these will be in the Omaha or Lincoln area with some possible small town tournaments.
○ We will try to minimize travel distance. If a group of families chooses to do a tournament outside of the area that may include staying overnight we will communicate with that group. Our goal is to have a lot of our teams playing in the same tournaments.
● Team 2 will have the option of playing in the Conqueror league in Elkhorn plus 3-4 tournaments, or tournaments only. Coaches and the basketball committee will work to have this decision completed by the middle of November.
● If the numbers are large enough that a grade must have a 3rd team, the basketball committee will work with coaches to get them in a league that fits the skill set that will allow them to develop which could include, tournaments, Conqueror league, YMCA league, or a combination of both so as to closely mirror the number of games all teams are getting over the course of the year. (May not be identical.)
